Shiba no Tsuri — Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Piegeon ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Shiba no Tsuri mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Age Verification

The first time you open the App, you're asked to enter your date of birth (month, day, year) via a neutral screen — the same screen, with the same wording, for every player. Nothing on this screen hints that any particular answer unlocks anything.

Your birth date is used once, locally on your device, to calculate whether you're under 13. The birth date itself is never saved anywhere — only the result of that calculation (a true/false flag) is stored locally on your device, together with a flag noting that the screen has been completed. Returning players aren't asked again. If this check can't be completed for any reason, the App defaults to treating the session as a child's for ad purposes — it never assumes you're older than 13 by default.

This flag determines which ad experience you see, as described in Section 4 (Children's Privacy). No ads of any kind are requested or shown until this screen has been completed.

Advertising & Diagnostic Data

The App displays ads using a mediation setup that includes Google AdMob and Unity Ads (LevelPlay mediation), along with any additional networks in their mediation chains. AppLovin MAX is integrated as an additional mediation partner but is not yet active; this policy will be updated once it begins serving ads. To serve and measure ads, and to keep the App stable, these SDKs automatically collect the data described below:

Data type Collected Shared with third parties Purpose
Device or other IDs (e.g. advertising ID) Yes, for players 13 and over only — never collected for players under 13 (see Section 4) Yes Advertising or marketing
App interactions Yes Yes Advertising or marketing
Other actions Yes Yes Advertising or marketing
Other app performance data (diagnostics) Yes Yes Analytics
Crash logs Yes No App functionality (identifying and fixing bugs)
Approximate location (derived from IP) Yes, for players 13 and over only Yes Advertising or marketing

This data is collected and processed by our ad mediation partners according to their own privacy policies, not by us directly. You can review their practices at policies.google.com/privacy (Google AdMob) and unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy (Unity Ads). Once AppLovin MAX becomes active, its privacy policy will also be linked here.

None of this data is processed ephemerally — it may be retained by these providers for as long as needed to serve its purpose. Collection is required for the App's advertising and stability functions and cannot be individually disabled within the App, though players 13 and over can reset or limit their device's advertising identifier through their device's system settings.

Game Progress & Cloud Save

On Android, the App uses Google Play Games Services to let you sign in with your Google account and sync your game progress (level completion, unlocks, settings) across devices. If you don't sign in, or while offline, progress is saved locally on your device using standard storage mechanisms. See Section 2 below for what this sign-in accesses.

In-App Purchases

The App offers optional in-app purchases, processed entirely through Google Play Billing. We do not collect, see, or store your payment card details, billing address, or any other payment information — this is handled directly by Google under its own privacy policy. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed, so we can unlock the corresponding content on your account or device. Purchases are not available to sessions flagged as a child's under Section 4; the child-directed ad experience does not affect purchase availability itself, but any purchase still requires Google Play's standard account and parental controls.

Information We Don't Collect

We do not require account creation to play the App (Google sign-in for cloud save is optional — see Section 2). The App does not collect your name, email address, or other directly identifying information beyond what Google Play Games Services provides for sign-in, and beyond what Google Play Billing requires to process purchases (which we never see directly).

2. Google User Data

On Android, the App uses Google Play Games Services Sign-In so you can save your progress to the cloud and sync it across devices. This is optional — you can play the App fully without signing in, in which case no Google Account data is accessed and progress is saved locally only. If you do sign in, the section below describes exactly what happens, in the specific terms Google requests for API/OAuth review.

Data Accessed: Your Google Play Games player ID, public display name, and profile photo, provided automatically by Google Play Games Services when you sign in. We do not request your email address, contacts, Drive files, or any other Google data. The App does not use leaderboards or achievements, so no gameplay activity is shared to a public profile.

Data Usage: This data is used solely to identify your save file and sync your game progress (level completion, unlocks, settings) across your devices via Google's Saved Games API.

Data Sharing: We do not share this data with any third party, including our advertising partners. It is only exchanged with Google as necessary to operate Play Games Services sign-in and cloud save.

Data Storage & Protection: Your save data and Play Games profile information are stored on Google's infrastructure (Play Games Services / Saved Games API), not on our own servers. All data is encrypted in transit using TLS.

Data Retention & Deletion: This data is retained for as long as your Google account remains linked to the App. You can unlink it at any time from within the App's settings, or delete your Play Games activity entirely via your Google Account settings (myaccount.google.com). You can also contact us at the email in Section 10 to request deletion.

If a future update adds new Google API scopes (for example, leaderboards or achievements), we will update this section and, where required, prompt you for consent before the change takes effect.

3. How We Use Information & Legal Basis

Any data described above is used solely to display and measure advertising, to process purchases, and to diagnose and fix technical issues. We do not sell your personal information.

Where GDPR applies (EEA/UK users), we and our ad partners rely on the following legal bases:

The App does not use any data described above to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. Ad selection may involve automated, algorithm-based targeting by our ad partners, but this does not amount to profiling with legal effect.

4. Children's Privacy

Shiba no Tsuri has a mixed audience: it's designed to be enjoyed by both children under 13 and older players. Because of this, the App uses a neutral age screen (described in Section 1) to determine which ad experience applies to each player, in line with Google Play's Families policy and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond the minimal, non-identifying data described in Section 1 (device/advertising identifiers are never collected for child sessions; diagnostic and crash data is not personal or directly identifying). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information beyond what's described here, please contact us using the details in Section 10 and we will address it.

5. Data Retention

We do not maintain a personal user data profile on our own servers — account-linked data (Play Games profile and cloud save) lives on Google's infrastructure, as described in Section 2, and purchase records live with Google Play Billing. The only data related to the age screen that's ever stored is two true/false flags saved locally on your device (whether the screen was completed, and whether the session is treated as a child's); your actual birth date is discarded immediately after that calculation and is never transmitted anywhere. Advertising identifiers, app interaction data, and diagnostic data are retained by our active ad mediation and diagnostic partners (currently AdMob and Unity Ads) according to their own retention policies. Local data stored on your device, including the age-screen flags, can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data via your device settings — doing so will show the age screen again on next launch.

6. Data Security

All data collected by the App and its third-party SDKs is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (TLS). We take reasonable measures to protect the App and the limited data it processes, but no method of electronic processing or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights (EEA, UK, and Other Regions)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with similar data protection laws, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Since most ad-related and diagnostic data is collected directly by our mediation and SDK partners, and purchase data is handled directly by Google Play Billing, requests about that data are often best directed to them via their own privacy tools (linked in Section 1), but you can also contact us at the details in Section 10 and we will assist where we can.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. If you are in Poland, this is the Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl. If you are elsewhere in the EEA/UK, you may contact your local supervisory authority instead.

8. International Data Transfers

Piegeon is based in Poland (EU). Advertising, purchase-processing, and diagnostic partners such as Google and Unity (and AppLovin, once active) may process data in other countries, including the United States, using appropriate safeguards as described in their own privacy policies.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as the App's features change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. If a future change means the App begins accessing new or additional Google user data or scopes beyond what's described in Section 2, we will update Section 2 accordingly and, where required, prompt users for consent before the change takes effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
