Piegeon
This Privacy Policy explains how Piegeon ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Talking Pigeon mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
Talking Pigeon uses your device's microphone to let you talk to the pigeon character. When you tap to record, the App captures a short audio clip, applies a voice effect, and plays it back to you.
You can deny or revoke microphone access at any time in your device settings. If you do, voice-based features of the App will not work, but you can still use the rest of the App.
The first time you open the App, you're asked to enter your date of birth (month, day, year) via a neutral screen — the same screen, with the same wording, for every player. Nothing on this screen hints that any particular answer unlocks anything.
This flag determines which ad experience you see, as described in Section 4 (Children's Privacy). No ads of any kind are requested or shown until this screen has been completed.
The App displays ads using a mediation setup that includes Google AdMob and Unity Ads (LevelPlay mediation), along with any additional networks in their mediation chains. AppLovin MAX is integrated as an additional mediation partner but is not yet active; this policy will be updated once it begins serving ads. To serve and measure ads, and to keep the App stable, these SDKs automatically collect the data described below:
| Data type | Collected | Shared with third parties | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Device or other IDs (e.g. advertising ID) | Yes, for players 13 and over only — never collected for players under 13 (see Section 4) | Yes | Advertising or marketing |
| App interactions | Yes | Yes | Advertising or marketing |
| Other actions | Yes | Yes | Advertising or marketing |
| Other app performance data (diagnostics) | Yes | Yes | Analytics |
| Crash logs | Yes | No | App functionality (identifying and fixing bugs) |
| Approximate location (derived from IP) | Yes, for players 13 and over only | Yes | Advertising or marketing |
This data is collected and processed by our ad mediation partners according to their own privacy policies, not by us directly. You can review their practices at policies.google.com/privacy (Google AdMob) and unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy (Unity Ads). Once AppLovin MAX becomes active, its privacy policy will also be linked here.
None of this data is processed ephemerally — it may be retained by these providers for as long as needed to serve its purpose. Collection is required for the App's advertising and stability functions and cannot be individually disabled within the App, though players 13 and over can reset or limit their device's advertising identifier through their device's system settings.
We do not require account creation, and the App does not collect your name, email address, or other directly identifying information. We do not use cloud save or in-app purchases in this App.
The App does not implement Google Sign-In, Google Play Games Services sign-in, or any other feature that requests access to your Google Account. We therefore do not access, collect, use, store, or share any Google Account data (such as your email address, contacts, Drive files, or profile information) at this time. The section below describes our current practices in the specific terms Google requests for API/OAuth review; if this changes in a future update, we will update this section and notify users before the change takes effect.
Data Accessed: None. No Google Account or Google API scopes are requested by the App.
Data Usage: Not applicable — no Google user data is accessed.
Data Sharing: Not applicable — no Google user data is accessed, so none is shared.
Data Storage & Protection: Not applicable — no Google user data is stored by us or our service providers.
Data Retention & Deletion: Not applicable — no Google user data is retained.
Any data described above is used solely to operate the App's voice playback feature, to display and measure advertising, and to diagnose and fix technical issues. We do not sell your personal information.
Where GDPR applies (EEA/UK users), we and our ad partners rely on the following legal bases:
The App does not use any data described above to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. Ad selection may involve automated, algorithm-based targeting by our ad partners, but this does not amount to profiling with legal effect.
Talking Pigeon has a mixed audience: it's designed to be enjoyed by both children under 13 and older players. Because of this, the App uses a neutral age screen (described in Section 1) to determine which ad experience applies to each player, in line with Google Play's Families policy and the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond the minimal, non-identifying data described in Section 1. As noted there, voice recordings are processed entirely on-device and never leave the App, regardless of age, and device/advertising identifiers are never collected for child sessions. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information beyond what's described here, please contact us using the details in Section 10 and we will address it.
Voice recordings are not retained after playback, as described above. The only data related to the age screen that's ever stored is two true/false flags saved locally on your device (whether the screen was completed, and whether the session is treated as a child's); your actual birth date is discarded immediately after that calculation and is never transmitted anywhere. Advertising identifiers, app interaction data, and diagnostic data are retained by our active ad mediation and diagnostic partners (currently AdMob and Unity Ads) according to their own retention policies. Local data stored on your device, including the age-screen flags, can be cleared at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing the App's data via your device settings — doing so will show the age screen again on next launch.
All data collected by the App and its third-party SDKs is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (TLS). We take reasonable measures to protect the App and the limited data it processes, but no method of electronic processing or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region with similar data protection laws, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
Since most ad-related and diagnostic data is collected directly by our mediation and SDK partners, requests about that data are often best directed to them via their own privacy tools (linked in Section 1), but you can also contact us at the details in Section 10 and we will assist where we can.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. If you are in Poland, this is the Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, uodo.gov.pl. If you are elsewhere in the EEA/UK, you may contact your local supervisory authority instead.
Piegeon is based in Poland (EU). Advertising and diagnostic partners such as Google and Unity (and AppLovin, once active) may process data in other countries, including the United States, using appropriate safeguards as described in their own privacy policies.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example as the App's features change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. If a future change means the App begins accessing Google user data, we will update Section 2 accordingly and, where required, prompt users for consent before the change takes effect. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
